Thomas M. Muha, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in Annapolis, Maryland. He travels around the country presenting his seminar, Achieving Authentic Happiness, to business and professional groups. In addition, he provides individual coaching by telephone to clients who want to be highly successful AND happy in their lives.
Dr. Muha received his Masters and Doctoral degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology. Following his post-doctoral internship, he moved to Maryland in 1980 where he established several successful business ventures. He began by creating the Comprehensive Counseling Centers, a series of clinics surrounding Baltimore.
Next, he founded Chesapeake Associates Corporate Consultants, which trained business people in Situational Leadership, Being A One Minute Manager, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Strategic Planning for Executive Teams, and Relationship Selling Skills. His corporate clients included Sealy Mattress, The Rouse Company, Whiting-Turner Construction, Mercantile Bank, and many others.
In another enterprise, he developed Looking Glass Productions, a publishing company specializing in self-help books. He and his co-author created a nationally recognized program for parents and children going through divorce. This work caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey and resulted in an appearance on her TV show.
But in spite of his remarkable success, Dr. Muha found that a high level of achievement was not enough to make him happy. So he took a three-year sailing sabbatical and discovered true happiness in his own life. Upon his return to land life, he was amazed that the profession of psychology had also taken a turn toward studying how to be happy.
Armed with this incredible breakthrough research along with his own experience of having achieved happiness, Dr. Muha has devoted his life to teaching others the steps to Achieving Authentic Happiness.
